I was brought up by parents who feared God. I learned by heart the scriptures about not having sex before marriage. I thought girls were an evil temptation. But that didn’t stop me from thinking about them!
My friends all thought being with lots of girls was okay. They told me how good it had felt to have sex. They even told me that I should practice. When I refused, they lied to girls and told them I couldn’t have sex.
I wanted to prove them wrong, so I slept with a girl.
Afterwards, I felt sure God must be angry with me. And because no one had taught me about safer sex, I didn’t use a condom.
“Are you crazy?” the guys said. I hadn't known that she could fall pregnant or that I could catch a sexually transmitted infection. I wish my parents had taught me more. I was so lucky that she didn’t fall pregnant.
Fitting in with your friends feel important at time. But it is more important to make good choices. Use a male or female condom every time you have sex, then your chances of regrets are lower.
